Church Structure

In keeping with other churches which are members of the Church of Scotland, the minister (currently vacant) is the head of the church.  A group of elders who are members of the church have meetings called the Kirk Session which oversee the operation of the church.  Within the kirk session there are a number of committees which are focused on particular areas.  The operation of the Kirk Session is managed by the Session Clerk who works with the minister and the elders to ensure the smooth running of the church.

Oakshaw Trinity's Session Clerk is Mr Robert B Copleton.

The committees are as follows:

  • Finance Committee (Alan Milton, chairman) - is responsible for the Church's money;

  • Fabric Committee (Ian Young, chairman) - is responsible for the Church's buildings and contents;

  • Youth Education Committee (Graeme McGowan, chairman) - is responsible for the Sunday School and other activities with young people, such as the youth organisations associated with the church;

  • Adult Education and Mission Committee (Andrew Hosie, chairman) - is responsible for the mission and outreach of the Church.
